Lateral Shock Training + Cutback

Following some ankle inversion and eversion drills, give this a go to decrease ground contact time and develop more single leg lateral power. Do not try this in barefoot shoes if you have limited ankle and hip mobility. If one cannot do this in the sagittal plane it will be tough. Some of these drills are advanced because I wanted to create a sense of awareness on how much discipline is required to move fast and be strong. Go slower at first and focus on not landed flat footed or with a collapsed arch. You should be landing on the ball of the foot with the heel slightly off the ground. These are best suited for basketball, hockey, baseball, lacrosse, football, martial arts, and soccer.
