Exampled here is another reactive plyometric drill that works on sagittal plane balance and explosive force production from a hurdled switch jump. Both knees being tucked in flexion is vital for avoiding defenders, up and under movements, and maximizing anerobic forces in sprinting and cutting. Make sure if you try it on plyo boxes that they are NOT LIGHT, or they will go lying and you can fall injure yourself. Be careful, and try 2-3 sets of 4-5 reps on each leg. Remember…to master plyometrics for some it will take a while to increase dorsiflexion and improve coordination and motor control. The part of the brain that deals with coordination, the cerebellum is small, and if we don’t do these things early in life as children, it is a journey! Check the Foot & ankle strength tab for guidance in preventative maintenance and mobility.
