Join NowSlant board anti-rotation lateral agility
Brace yourself for a great lateral challenge with this single leg movement pattern. I saw a NBA trainer performing this at a reasonable speed—and believed I could do it. Thus, I purchased the boards and gave it a whirl. Slant boards can assist in change of direction and redirection. They can also minimize jumpers knee by taking stress of the patella and strengthening the VMO (vastus medialis oblique). When executed this one one foot, I must keep my midline as stable as possible to avoid excessive rotation when I move through the frontal plane. Frontal plane training is vital for any sport or activity that requires lateral movement for speed. The boards essentially create more ankle mobility, build more resilient legs by increasing strength in the quads, and improve force production by changing the surface of ground contact to enhance explosive power. The goal is to create short ground contact time as I change direction. Without ankle mobility and hip rotation this is rather difficult, so if you are a beginner, try getting use to it without the hurdle or alternating legs instead of anti rotation. Have fun.
