Join NowFront rack Bulgarian split squat w/ (better performance stand)
Loading heavier on split squats requires a secure split squat pad in which the top of the foot on the rear leg is RELAXED. The goal is to eccentrically lower down with the quads, then in deep knee flexion, push the floor away with the front foot rather than using the near. This will assure you ignite the glutes (concentric). The back foot on the stand should be used more as a small support system, perhaps 10% weight for alignment. This is all. DO NOT move the rear ankle away from the knee. If you can’t yet do this, you are not ready for the stand and must practice regular, forward, reverse and side lunges first. The barbell in front rack pushes more stress on the core and quads to remain stable in deep in knee flexion. It is harder for many to remain in a neutral spine position due to the mobility in the lats and wrists required to complete a full ROM rep. If new to it, stick to higher volume and work through form preferably using a mirror or video ^ over time. If a conditioned athlete, shoot for this at least 1×2 times per 7-8 days and keep the weight high volume low. The beginner to intermediate goal is hypertrophy, the seasoned is strength. Lets go!
