Standing Hip CAR {Controlled Articular Rotations)

Some more FRC. The standing hip CAR with a support (rail, squat rack, cable, doorframe,) allows for optimal core positioning without excessive rotation of the pelvis. The knee joint of the standing leg should not be too fixed or bent, and the goal is rotate the hip level to its capsule without bringing core tissue away from the rack. If you are a gal, this is easier, if you are guy its a bit harder. If you feel nothing you might be hypermobile and super flexible. Remember, this is for prehab, recovery and for everyday life to feel better. Th e harder you train, the harder these become. The point of hip joint manipulation is to actively rotate the joint and free up space while the midline has to work to stay neutral. This will allow for end range joint mechanics to operate with enough mobility and force. As previously mentioned, many acute sport related mishaps occur due to poor mechanics and a limit at end range JOINT positions. Thus, what I am saying is the hamstring is generally not being pulled from a weak hamstring…it it coming from a janky running gait and miscalculated use of the hip joint, often lacking internal rotation. I do these often. 5-7 x per week at 4 to 6 reps each leg.
